Hi, I'm Bec, the Owner-Operator of Paws Outdoors. I was born and raised here on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. When I'm not working, you can find me spending quality time with my partner, our two children and gorgeous 12 year old German Shorthaired Pointer, Rosie Sparkles. We all enjoy family adventures, getting outdoors and exploring the beautiful beaches, parks, and trails together.
Owning a dog has been such a rewarding journey, but it certainly came with it's share of "growing pains". When Rosie was younger and I was a very inexperienced and undereducated dog owner, my biggest stress was her tendency for jumping fences; knowing she was an escape artist made it impossible for me to feel at ease leaving her home alone. Turning to doggie daycare was a total game-changer for my peace of mind and her well being. Knowing she was in a secure, supervised environment eliminated the constant fear for her safety while I was at work. Beyond the security, the professional socialisation was something I simply didn’t have the specialised knowledge or the hours in the day to provide myself. Seeing her learn how to interact confidently with other dogs while burning off that puppy energy was a massive relief, and it truly helped her grow into a well-adjusted, happy dog.
Realising how much I lacked the specific knowledge to handle my own dog's challenges at the time became the catalyst for my journey where my passion for dog training evolved into the professional career I have today. Today, professionally, I bring over 6 years of dedicated experience as an Assistance Dog Trainer, a journey that started with a comprehensive cadetship and culminated in the placement of ten certified, life-changing Assistance dogs with families Australia wide. Following a period of maternity leave, I transitioned into several key leadership and support roles, including Puppy Development Co-ordinator and Mentor to trainee assistance dog trainer staff. My experience is broad and multifaceted, ranging from nurturing puppy foster-family teams to participating in rehabilitation programs within Correctional Centres. By guiding 'Train Your Own Dog' clients toward Public Access success, I have developed a deep passion for helping humans and dogs navigate the world together with confidence and harmony.
Today, my mission is to deliver a secure and engaging environment where dogs can satisfy their natural instincts through structured socialisation and outdoor play in sunshine and fresh air. I am dedicated to providing high-quality care that supports your dog’s physical and mental well-being. By focusing on canine enrichment and socialisation, I aim to ensure every dog returns home relaxed and fulfilled, fostering a more harmonious life for you and your pet.
I can't wait to welcome your dog into our daycare family and give them a safe, fun space to grow.
